Inaugurated on 9th May 1999, the Bologna Jewish Museum (Museo Ebraico di Bologna - MEB) was established to preserve, study, promote and enhance the rich Jewish cultural heritage which is deeply rooted in Bologna as well as in many places in Emilia-Romagna. It is also the centre of the Jewish museum network in Emilia-Romagna. In the Museum, visitors will be taken on a discovery of the age-old history of the Jewish people told through various means of communication and testimonies from synagogues, cemeteries and former ghettos. The Museum is host to a noteworthy programme of weekly events including courses and seminars on the Jewish language, art and culture, conferences, book presentations, meetings and debates as well as shows, concerts, guided tours and workshops. The facility also includes a well-stocked library.

Bookshop, educational area, temporary exhibition hall, conference hall, access for the disabled. The Jewish Museum of Bologna organizes guided tours on Sundays at the museum to examine highlights of Jewish history and tradition in Bologna.
