The Museum of Music is located in the foyer of the Teatro Comunale "Alice Zeppilli", the theater dedicated to the worldwide famous soprano, wife of the cellist from Pieve di Cento, Giuseppe Alberghini. The Museum collects items pertaining to the musical tradition of Pieve di Cento: from bell music to marching bands; from early luthier shops to the present and prestigious Luthier School, where many learn this profession.
The Museum hosts the collection of string instruments created by Luigi Mozzani, a "reproduction" of the Alice Zeppilli's dressing room, featuring clothes and props, and many relics belonging to the celebrated singer and her cellist husband. In the same building of the Museum is possible to visit the Theatre: a rare example of playhouse placed inside a Municipal Building.
Recently renewed, it is a typical 19th-century theatre "all'italiana" with three galleries, still maintaining the original curtain, the decorations and the old furniture.
