“To Be Jazz Festival” will be back in Bologna from 6th September to 8th September and is part of the summer festival Bologna Estate. Three days of free concerts with great international artists and leading names in Italy. With this edition the Festival celebrates its sixth year of life, a goal achieved thanks to the commitment of the artistic director, the saxophonist Valerio Pontrandolfo, and the cooperation with La Torinese 1888 and Associazione ”In Jazz We Trust ”. Piazza Re Enzo will once again be the "stage" that will host the concerts. A calendar of different proposals, with Italian jazz musicians playing with international artists: the American saxophonist JESSE DAVIS, the Italian-Brazilian duo AS MADALENAS, and the Canadian saxophonist ROBERT BONISOLO. Before, during and after the concerts you can enjoy a drink or dine in a smart position in front of the stage thanks to La Torinese restaurant which offers various dishes and typical Italian cuisine, with local specialities. PROGRAMME 6 Sept - JESSE DAVIS QUARTET (Jesse Davis – alto sax, Nico Menci – piano, Stefano Senni – double bass, Nicola Angelucci – drums). 7 Sept. - AS MADALENAS “Cantano Caetano”. The duo, composed by the Italian Cristina Renzetti and the Brazilian Tati Valle, will perform a song dedicated to the great Brazilian singer-songwriter Caetano Veloso, along with some songs from their first album "Madeleine". 8 Sept - ROBERT BONISOLO QUARTET (Robert Bonisolo – tenor sax, Paolo Birro – piano, Luca Pisani – double-bass, Alberto Chiozzi – drums).
