Bologna
The singular components of this group create unusual combinations of wood, wind and metal sounds, prepared strings and beaten skins. Their sound world and their strong sense of communication give life to forms of instant composition and collective interaction that are completely unique. At what point does the sound become music, and the music sound? Dans Les Arbres explores the ambiguous boundaries between these extremes. In confusing the territorial boundaries that separate one from the other, they discover music in sound and vice versa, through spontaneous compositions of surprising beauty and tactility. In performance, they move with great precision through different combinations of performers and instruments, such as navigating along an uncertain path to some mysterious destination.
