Arcadi Volodos, a poet of the piano: his rock-solid technical virtuosity, his strong rhythmic sense, his exploration of colours and touch distinguish him as an intense narrator of stories, way beyond the boundaries of times and styles. Heir of the Russian tradition, assimilated at the Conservatories of Moscow and Petersburg, his repertoire includes traditional classics such as Schubert and Schumann to Brahms and Rachmaninov, but also the delicately fragmented style of some of Skrjabin's works, together with less known “ambience” music by Spanish composers such as Mompou, Lecuona and Manuel de Falla.
