Nilla Longobardi is an old woman. In the centre of Bologna, she raised a family in a home that we imagine to be big, welcoming and open. This house is everything she has left together with the memories, but her children decide the time has come for her to move to an old people’s home.
Here, Nilla meets various people living in the Institute. They appear to her as parodies of a reality that at times starts to falter, though Nilla is still lucid: she lives, loves, desires and wants to go on the trip of their dreams before it is too late: Acapulco.
