The Bologna-Raticosa was the most famous uphill speed race organized in the Province of Bologna, it was run in 1926, in 1939, from 1950 to 1954 and from 1962 to 1969. It has always been in the heart of sportsmen being one of the most uphill climbs demanding at European level. After 32 years of absence, in 2001, thanks to the enthusiasm of the Bolognese entrepreneur Francesco Amante, always passionate about historic cars, the Raticosa "sprinter" reserved for historic cars on the Pianoro-Livergnano section until 2015, the year in which it is reorganized, due to pressing bureaucratic aspects that made the organization extremely complicated, it was decided to interrupt the race.
