Inaugurated in Spring 2018, it entered in the ‘Bologna Metropolitan area museum circuit’ in October. Giocars Museum’s exhibition features 700 unique toys, delving into the theme of movement. It is part of the world famous car museums in the Bologna area and the near town of Modena thanks to its priceless private cultural heritage and its strategic location in Sala Bolognese in the heart of the Motor Valley.

Through the museum’s gallery, visitors explore the history of moving toys, hence the name Gioco (Game) + Cars: cars, tricycles , prams, rocking horses, levers, pedals and wheels, all of them preserved better than everywhere else in Italy. These are cars loved all over the world, they are called "pedal cars", but the showpieces of the collection are the karts along with the motorcycles, a series of splendid large, fully functional models. Unique pieces of absolute importance, prodroms of the bolides produced in the Motor Valley.

A collection that follows and in some cases anticipates the historical evolution of local automotive and motorcycle brands, witness of the local population, artisans and companies’ historical and cultural vocation to the movement, the speed and the automotive design made in Italy, as a matter of fact made in Emilia Romagna.

Giocars completes the offer with its educational services, giving the public a full-immersive experience. In fact, there are guided tours for individual visitors, groups (also in foreign languages on request), families and schools. The workshops are dedicated to children and adolescents, during which they will learn concepts such as sustainable, alternative mobility, reuse through repair, restoration and other contemporary themes, which Giocars take on the role of promoter of such ideas.

During these events, the museum brings visitors closer to the history of the toy, to the themes related to the evolution and history of the playful aspect of the game "foundation of every culture of social organization" (Homo Ludens, J. Huizinga 1938).

The Museum can also host public and private events, vintage motorbike car rallies and others events that are compatible with the structure and its external spaces.
