Your experience in brief
10:30 a.m. – Meet inside the National Art Gallery, at the Bologna Welcome Bookshop, to meet the guide and begin the tour.
The works of Bartolomeo Cesi on display in the Pinacoteca are located in the ‘Mannerism / Carracci / Reni’ section, which illustrates the transition of Bolognese art from the late 16th century to modernity.
These rooms have recently been redesigned and allow for a comparison between Cesi's works and those of his contemporaries, including the Carracci family, highlighting the originality of his painting, his intimate sensibility and his continuous ability to dialogue with the great masters of his time.
The young Guido Reni also looked upon his art with particular admiration, and his undisputed masterpieces can be admired in these rooms.
The entrance ticket to the Pinacoteca is not included in the participation fee.
