Description
Deep in the heart of Bologna, within the historical mansion named after its last owner, Count Rossi Poggi Marsili, and former seat of the Opera Pia dei Poveri Vergognosi, we find the La Quadreria museum.
On permanent display are around 50 works by famous Bolognese painters, either by birth or adoption, who lived from the 16th to the 18th century. Exhibited over eight rooms are paintings from Mannerism to Baroque, from the portrait to the sacred-religious and mythological genre.
Additionally, a dedicated room displays large antique maps of the continents, 17th-century Bolognese engravings that testify to the focus on colonial conquests and the spice trade.
A story within a story to be unveiled on a guided tour that La Quadreria di ASP Città di Bologna is pleased to offer its visitors.
