Bologna
The Municipality of Bologna, partner of the European project LIFE Clivut (Climate value of urban trees), organizes six free walks, open to all, from 3 to 19 September 2021, to recognize tree species that most affect climate mitigation. The motto of the event is: Let’s discover urban parks and their potential to fight climate change. The walks will be guided by expert botanists of the Clivut project, who will illustrate some elements of phenology, the science that studies the relationship between climatic factors and plant life, and that helps to monitor climate change. Key concepts to identify the species in the parks concerned will also be explained and data on CO2 and PM10 uptake will be provided for each tree.
