Saturday May 9, 2026, from 2:30 PM, the Casa del Popolo di Passosegni in Baricella (BO) hosts a narrative walk through the places in Passo Segni mentioned or evoked in the novel “La signora Ferretti”.
The initiative, organized in collaboration with the Consulta di Frazione di Passo Segni, invites participants to rediscover the landscape and memory of the village through a female perspective and the author’s storytelling.
From the meeting point, a walk of حوالي 5 km will begin, a circular route through history, nature, and local memory, accompanied by readings, anecdotes, and stories connected to the area.
The walk will first lead up onto the embankment of the Reno River, alongside the historic Palazzo della Dogana, once a central hub for trade and the site of the ancient river port. The route will then continue toward Gallo, along an elevated path offering “postcard-like” views over Passo Segni and the surrounding countryside, with wide vistas of cultivated fields and rural landscapes. The path will then reach the Ganzanini sluice, which regulates the waters of the Cembalina, a canal winding through agricultural land. Following its winding banks, participants will cross the countryside belonging to the historic Malvasia estate, immersed in a rural landscape that still preserves the slow, harmonious rhythm of agricultural tradition. Returning to the village, visitors will discover several notable local landmarks: the evocative cemetery surrounded and protected by majestic oak trees, the large Church of Santa Filomena—remarkably spacious for a rural setting—with its slender bell tower dominating the landscape, and the former elementary school, a symbol of the community’s collective memory.
An itinerary that intertwines landscape and storytelling, nature and history, offering a chance to rediscover Passo Segni through the slow pace of walking and the evocative power of words.
4:30 PM: return to the Casa del Popolo di Passo Segni with a short artistic performance by local artists.
5:00 PM: meeting with the author Alessio Fabbri and a reading of selected excerpts from the novel, which tells the story of a bourgeois woman from Villanova di Bagnacavallo who became a key figure for the Passo Segni community. The Mayor of Baricella, Omar Mattioli, will engage in conversation with the writer. During the event, several Erasmus+ EDA ambassadors from Emilia-Romagna will be present, supporting and collaborating on the initiative, and presenting the opportunities offered by the Erasmus programme and the EPALE platform for adult education. Their participation highlights education, exchange of experiences, and cultural sharing with the local community.
The initiative is part of the Festival Narrativo del Paesaggio. This year, the festival is included within the celebrations for the 80th anniversary of women’s first national political vote in Italy (June 2, 1946), a historic milestone that profoundly transformed the country’s civic, social, and democratic landscape.
