Water Music | Fontanamix

Sunday May 10, 2026 at 8:30 PM, the Ex Chiesa di San Mattia in Bologna hosts the concert Water Music.

The experience of the Piccola Orchestra Zen originated within the now thirty-year-long activity of the Campeggio delle Ortiche, held at the Fudenji Zen Monastery; around twenty young people, aged 6 to 18, have formed an ensemble dedicated to improvisation and the performance of contemporary music. The Zen spirit of the experience lies precisely in the choice of repertoire and in the approach to making, perceiving, and being music.

The theme of water is the guiding thread of the concert. Original works and music by John Cage, Morton Feldman, Arvo Pärt, and Terry Riley will be performed.
