On Sunday April 5, 2026 at 5:30 PM, in the Basilica of San Martino Maggiore, the Aureli-Faldi duo will perform the concert Organ Vespers at San Martino.
The concert will offer a fascinating journey through the works of great Baroque masters. The program includes compositions by Girolamo Frescobaldi, Giovanni Paolo Cima, Michelangelo Rossi, Giovanni Battista Fontana, Diogeno Bigaglia, Johann Pachelbel, and Georg Philipp Telemann.
The pieces will range from toccatas and sonatas for solo and duo instruments, to sonatas for recorder and basso continuo, as well as evocative chorales such as Christ lag in Todes banden, which vividly describes the Resurrection: «Christ lay in the shroud, sacrificed for our sins; He has risen and restored life to us; we rejoice, praise the Lord, give thanks to Him, and sing Alleluia, Alleluia!».
The evening will feature Miranda Aureli on organ and Paolo Faldi on recorders and oboe, who together form the renowned Aureli-Faldi Duo, active since 1988 and specialized in the performance of 17th- and 18th-century music.
