The project Il Viandante is a musical project by Cantabile that involves the Fabbricadivoci and CantabiLAB choirs and a jazz quartet. The gaze is turned to the Middle Eastern musical heritage, which has expanded (such as the human population and culture), thanks to Athens and Rome, to the ends of our continent. A unique root, therefore, which can be found in the musical aspects and in the stories told by the songs.
We know that music and culture have spread thanks to the people who have traveled since ancient times: with the Jewish traditions (Sephardi and Azkenazi), with the Roma tradition, with medieval monks and the dense network of monasteries and abbeys. A song of wayfarers, therefore, of migrants who spread the topics and musical themes they encountered, transforming them into a common heritage. This is a dynamic that has been repeated over the centuries, thanks to the Roman roads traveled by soldiers, traders and religious, and always with the movement of people.
