Sofia Donato - Pianofortissimo & Talenti 2026

On Tuesday, June 9, 2026, pianist Sofia Donato performs in concert in the Cortile dell'Archiginnasio. The concert is part of the Pianofortissimo & Talenti 2026 series.

Sofia Donato, born in 2005, is a student of Ingrid Fliter and Mauro Minguzzi at the Accademia Pianistica di Imola and is considered one of the most promising young pianists from Bologna.

She has received valuable guidance from Evgeny Kissin, attended masterclasses with Benedetto Lupo, Michail Lifits, Andrea Lucchesini and Alberto Nosè, and studied with Tatiana Zelikman and Alon Goldstein at the Theo & Petra Lieven Piano Foundation in Vienna. An interpreter of poetic musicality, she received the jury’s special prize at the Premio Alkan for Romantic piano virtuosity, her repertoire of choice, which she also showcases in this recital. Alongside the ever-changing expressiveness of Chopin’s Fantasia, she presents Schumann’s poetic Humoreske, a visionary work oscillating between multiple emotional nuances, a passionate narration of states of mind.
