Tuesday October 6, 2026, at 8:30 PM at the Oratorio San Filippo Neri in Bologna, the Opus13 Quartet will perform in concert.
Program:
-
Matteo Franceschini New composition for string quartet
commissioned by Bologna Festival and Ferrara Musica - Ludwig van Beethoven String Quartet in D major, Op. 18 No. 3
- Béla Bartók String Quartet No. 3
The string quartet is a form in constant evolution: it spans centuries, changes language, yet preserves the intimacy of dialogue. The Opus13 Quartet, a young Norwegian ensemble, places this vocation at the center of its program, combining great repertoire with new music.
The evening opens with the world premiere of a new composition by Matteo Franceschini, commissioned by Bologna Festival and Ferrara Musica, in dialogue with the classical energy of Beethoven and the unconventional modernity of Bartók. Three perspectives, three eras, one idea: the quartet as a laboratory of invention and listening.
Opus13 Quartet:
- Sonoko Miriam Welde – violin
- Edvard Erdal – violin
- Albin Uusijärvi – viola
- Daniel Thorell – cello
