Friday, July 24 | NAÏMAH
Naïmah, from Arabic meaning "she who brings joy or delight", evokes a gift of light and vital energy. The four musicians from Bologna chose this name as a manifesto: an invitation to seek beauty and create music capable of generating emotion and balance.
Their self-titled debut album is the first chapter of a sonic journey waiting to be discovered. Naïmah overturns one of the most basic rules of contemporary Western music: abandoning the drum kit as the rhythmic centre and turning its absence into a creative opportunity.
The rhythm comes from a "distributed drum kit" shared among strings, wind instruments, voices and small percussion instruments, creating a hypnotic groove rich in influences.
Beatrice Lenzini - vocals, percussion
Giovanni Tamburini - flugelhorn
Fabio Mazzini - dobro, slide guitar
Luca Pasotti - bass
