The Cappella Musicale dei Servi of Bologna opens its 2026 concert season with one of the most intense and meaningful works in the entire sacred repertoire: the Requiem by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, an absolute masterpiece of beauty, spiritual depth, and emotional power.
The opening concert will take place on Saturday 7 February 2026 at 9:00 pm, in the evocative setting of the Basilica dei Servi in Bologna, whose intimate and solemn atmosphere will further amplify the universal message of the work.
Performing the Requiem will be the Choir and Orchestra of the Cappella Musicale dei Servi, joined by Lorena Lepidi (soprano), Irene Ribezzi (mezzo-soprano), Gianluca Moro (tenor), Luca Fanteria (bass), and Roberto Cavrini (organ). The concert will be conducted by Maestro Lorenzo Bizzarri.
This inaugural concert takes on an even deeper significance thanks to its special dedication to the young victims of Crans-Montana in the tragic New Year’s event. The decision to open the season by dedicating Mozart’s Requiem—already scheduled in the program—stems from the desire to transform music into a moment of communion, prayer, and remembrance, bringing performers and audience together in a collective embrace of silence, reflection, and hope.
