On Sunday 14 and Saturday 20 December 2025, the “Donizetti” Municipal Band of Casalecchio di Reno will present, in its two end-of-year concerts dedicated to Italian composers, several absolute premieres: two unpublished works by Ottorino Respighi and one by Ennio Morricone.
Also featured are two wonderful symphonic marches by Giovanni Orsomando (the first step in the “Donizetti”’s project to revalue this important historical repertoire); one of the most beautiful and most performed pieces by Marco Somadossi; and a new march by conductor Massimo Sgargi.
The unmissable and traditional Christmas pieces will be performed in two sparkling arrangements by Robert Smith and James Swearingen; and works by Mascagni and Puccini reaffirming our love for the great Italian tradition.
