The historic Basilica dei Servi will be transformed into the stage for two extraordinary musical events in May, offering the public a unique and evocative sound experience.
The first event, scheduled for Saturday, May 17 at 9 p.m., will be held in the intimate and historically rich atmosphere of the Basilica's Sacristy. Chamber music lovers will be able to immerse themselves in a selected repertoire, and the intimate acoustics of the sacristy will enhance the nuances and dynamics of each instrument, creating an engaging and personal listening experience. Reservations for this event are mandatory given the limited number of seats the Basilica sacristy can hold.
On the program:
R. Schumann, “Renana,” Symphony No. 3 in E major, op. 47
F. Mendelssohn Bartoldy, “The Hebrews,” Overture in B min op.26.

The second event, scheduled for Friday, May 23 at 9 p.m., will instead feature the Basilica's main church, with its impressive architecture and grand acoustics. Animating this sacred space will be the most celebrated Opera Choirs of Verdi, Puccini, Mascagni and Rossini. The power of the voices and the solemnity of the setting will merge to give the audience moments of intense emotion and suggestion. At the organ Roberto Cavrini, Choir and Orchestra of the Cappella Musicale dei Servi will be conducted by Maestro Lorenzo Bizzarri. Reservations for this event are not required.
