In Italian it is called flute, in English recorder, but it is, on the surface, the same instrument. Until you happen to attend a concert by Lucie Horsch, and then you get the feeling that you are listening to a hundred different flutes.
Dutch by birth, 25 years old, she began playing at the age of five and gave her first concert on live television at nine. His repertoire is boundless, ranging from Dutch folk music to Kurtág, from Bach to Berio, from Telemann to Stravinsky. And in concert he uses ten different variations of the straight flute: from the Renaissance soprano recorder to the “voice flute.” A continuous, astonishing “Metamorphosis.”
