On Sunday, September 13, 2026 at 11:30 AM, as part of the Pepoli in Musica series, Palazzo Pepoli hosts the Orchestra Barocca di Bologna with the concert Don Quixote.
The wandering exploits of Cervantes’ anti-hero are interwoven with music by 16th-century Spanish composers.
The awakening and rest of Don Quixote, the virtues and miseries of Sancho Panza, the deeds of Rocinante, as well as the ineffable beauty of Dulcinea, resonate in the notes of Diego Ortiz, Luis Milán, Antonio de Cabezón, and Bartolomé de Selma y Salaverde.
Sensus Ensemble:
- Marianne Gubri, baroque harp
- Rosita Ippolito, viola da gamba
- Domenico Cerasani, lute and baroque guitar
- Marco Muzzati, percussion and speaking voice
