Liszt: Sonata in B minor Schumann: Fantasy in C major, Op. 17
LUCA RASCA, a pupil of Franco Scala at the Imola Piano Academy, has won numerous national and international prizes, including: the London Piano Competition, the Busoni Competition in Bolzano, the Palma d’Oro in Finale Ligure, the Schubert Competition in Dortmund, the Scriabin Competition in Grosseto, the Chopin Competition in Rome, the Città di Treviso Competition, the Casagrande Competition in Terni, and the Viotti Competition in Vercelli. He performs as a soloist and in chamber music ensembles, and has performed over 20 piano concertos with prestigious orchestras, including the RAI Symphony Orchestra, the Virtuosi di New York, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, with whom he made his debut at the Royal Festival Hall in London performing Brahms’s First Concerto in the presence of His Royal Highness Charles of England.
He writes for the magazine *Suonare News*, is artistic director of the Palma d’Oro International Competition in Finale Ligure (SV), and is the founder and teacher at the Piano Summer Campus in Tolmezzo (UD), which takes place annually in July. He holds the Chair of Principal Piano at the Pesaro Conservatoire. He has been a Steinway Artist since December 2015 and, since 2019, an artist with Universal Classics & Jazz, the label on which his debut album, dedicated to sonatas by Muzio Clementi, was released in November 2019.
