On Friday 1 January 2027, the Società di Danza is pleased to invite you to the New Year’s 19th-Century Grand Ball to celebrate the first day of the New Year in the Salone del Podestà at Palazzo Re Enzo in Bologna.
Hundreds of dancers in period costume from the various Società di Danza associations will recreate the fascinating atmosphere of 19th-century society balls, dancing quadrilles, waltzes, country dances, mazurkas and polkas to music by great Italian and international composers.
The Società di Danza was founded in Bologna in 1991 by Maestro Fabio Mòllica with the aim of studying and promoting historical social dance.
The event is held under the patronage of the Emilia-Romagna Region and the Municipality of Bologna.
