For almost forty years the “Premio Venezia” has been one of the most prestigious Italian piano competitions, not just because it awards a renowned prize, but also because it guarantees the winners a concrete musical path: the career of pianists such as Giuseppe Albanese, Andrea Bacchetti, Leonora Armellini and Mariangela Vacatello is the best demonstration of this. Davide Ranaldi, born in 2000, is the most recent winner of the Award: a pupil of Alexander Romanovsky and Leonid Margarius, he offers a coherent and reasoned journey through three different eras of piano literature: Haydn, Chopin, Rachmaninoff and Prokofiev.
