CRUDO – Contemporary Dance and Performing Arts Festival 2026

From May 23 to May 31, 2026, Nuove Visioni takes place, the fifth edition of CRUDO – Contemporary Dance and Performing Arts Festival, curated by Leggere Strutture Art Factory at the Bach Art Centre in Bologna.

Nuove Visioni, the subtitle of this edition, represents a way of inhabiting the contemporary, questioning the present through shared experiences and building contexts in which temporary communities can meet, recognize one another, and generate new visions.

For the first time, the festival’s performances and events are hosted at the Bach Art Centre, the city’s new cultural hub: a home for artists and citizens, designed as a cultural device for the contemporary, capable of activating relationships between artistic practices, research, and collective imaginaries. A multidisciplinary centre dedicated to emerging contemporary dance and to local artists and companies.

The festival was created to support emerging artists in the national and international contemporary dance scene, with the aim of presenting new creative energies through innovative and experiential approaches, with new techniques and perspectives.

Admission to the festival is free, with the aim of spreading art and culture even in peripheral areas, creating a living and active cultural ecosystem.

CRUDO Festival is part of Bologna Estate 2026, the programme of events promoted and coordinated by the Municipality and the Metropolitan City of Bologna – Bologna-Modena Tourist Territory, and is supported within the framework of the agreement between the Municipality of Bologna and the Ministry of Culture – Directorate-General for Entertainment for live performance activities in peripheral areas. In addition, the Anfibia project and the CRUDO Festival are supported by the Soka Gakkai Foundation.
