Concert on the Zanin Grand Organ

On the evening of Ferragosto (15 August), the Collegiate Church of Santa Maria Maggiore in Pieve di Cento hosts Spiritual Organ Elevation, an event combining music, spirituality, and art in a unique and evocative setting.

The concert will feature renowned organist Francesco Tasini, an internationally respected performer with numerous scholarly publications and acclaimed recordings to his name. He will lead the audience on a musical journey through masterpieces of the organ repertoire, brought to life by the magnificent F. Zanin Grand Organ and the exceptional acoustics of the church.

The traditional Concert of the Assumption (9:00 PM) will be preceded by Solemn Gregorian Vespers (8:30 PM), In Assumptione Beatæ Mariae Virginis, ad II Vesperas, celebrated on the feast day of the town's patron saint.

Admission is free. Visitors will also have the opportunity to admire the many artistic masterpieces housed in the Collegiate Church, including works by Guercino, Cesare Gennari, Giuseppe Varotti, Ippolito Scarsella (known as Scarsellino), Giovanni Francesco Gessi, Lavinia Fontana, the decorative cycle by Antonio Guardassoni, Luigi Samoggia, Giovanni Battista Baldi, and Michelangelo Tonelli, as well as the monumental Assumption of the Virgin by Guido Reni.
