On the evening of Ferragosto, the Collegiate Church of Santa Maria Maggiore in Pieve di Cento hosts an event that combines music, spirituality and art in an evocative atmosphere.
At 8.30 PM, the Solemn Vespers of the Assumption will be held, performed in Gregorian chant with organ accompaniment. Immediately afterwards, at 9 PM, the traditional Assumption Concert will take place, entrusted to Prof. Francesco Tasini, renowned organist and musicologist, author of important publications and recordings.
The Grande Organo Zanin will be the protagonist of a refined musical performance entirely dedicated to Johann Sebastian Bach, conceived as a path of spiritual elevation. The sound of the instrument, enhanced by the exceptional acoustics of the church, will offer the audience an intense and involving experience. The evening will also be an opportunity to admire one of the treasures of the Collegiate Church: the altarpiece of the Assumption of the Virgin, a masterpiece by Guido Reni, placed on the high altar on 15 August 1600, together with other precious works of sacred art.
A special event, inviting to celebrate Ferragosto between organ music, spirituality and artistic beauty.
