The Comunità Ellinica dell’ Emilia Romagna – APS and the Associazione Mozart Italia sede di Bologna, in collaboration with the Municipality of Bologna, and with the artistic direction of Lara Congiu, celebrate, one year after his death, the Great Greek Composer Mikis Theodorakis.
The concert that will see on the stage of the DiMondi open-air theater, in the spaces of Piazza Lucio Dalla, the performance of the Orchestra dei Colli Morenici of Mantova, composed of 50 elements, directed by Maestro Nicola Ferraresi.
At their side there will be MaestroTheodoros Lazarou, member of the ERT Symphonic Orchestra of Athens, who will direct the Greek Ensemble Romiosini, composed of 8 elements, chosen from among the typical Greek musical instruments, not present in the symphonic orchestra.
With them on stage the soprano Antonella Orefice and the Greek laiko (popular) singer Nikos Bofilios will sing the composer's music and songs carefully selected from his repertoire, accompanied by the choir of the Associazione Musicale Coro Claudio Merulo of Reggio Emilia.
The concert will consist of two parts, the first dedicated to an extract of symphonic operas composed by Maestro Theodorakis while the second part will be dedicated to a selection of popular pieces (laikà) concluding with the international success "Zorbas".
