Wednesday, November 20, at 9 pm in the Aula Magna of S. Lucia (via Castiglione 36) the beginning of the academic year of the Alma Mater is celebrated with the usual appointment proposed by the Collegium Musicum: with Mr. Rossini! // Snapshots of an artist, the Collegium proposes the formula of the concert-show in an event dedicated to the figure of Gioachino Rossini and his very close relations with the city of Bologna. On stage, the Orchestra and Choir of the Collegium Musicum, directed by Enrico Lombardi and Roberto Pischedda, will juggle between symphonies, opera arias and elegies, guided with a sure hand by the direction of Riccardo Tabilio. The artistic and biographical trajectory of Gioachino Rossini is grafted in an exemplary way into a vision of "life as a work of art": artist, intellectual and viveur, Rossini is a character larger than life. The biographers and the contemporaries themselves in portraying him use the most diverse colors, contrasting if not completely contradictory: light, brilliant, lover of jokes but inclined to anger, lazy yet hyperactive, witty and at the same time depressed. The concert dramatized Mr. Rossini! // Snapshots of an artist aims to tell the character musically and theatrically: the stereoscopic variety of the musical program will be repeated in the menu of the original dramaturgy, which plays on questioning "Signor Rossini" through a montage of original writings and historical sources. Rossini was in fact a member of the Accademia Filarmonica di Bologna, an institution that over the centuries has seen among its associates the most illustrious names in the history of music. And it is precisely from the Accademia Filarmonica, which collaborated in the making of this show, that some of the materials that make up the rich musical and dramaturgical story of the event arrive. Free admission subject to availability of seats.
