Note a Borgo Reno – Encounters in Style reaches its fourth edition in 2026, a milestone that reflects the strength of a project that has become a cherished part of community life. The 2026 edition holds special significance as it is included in the celebrations marking the 20th anniversary of Bologna UNESCO City of Music.

The program offers a stylistic exploration of wind ensembles through three event formats that proved highly successful in 2025. The first, the Sunrise Concert at Nicholas Green Park, transforms the city's awakening into a moment of shared contemplation. The second, the Sunset Concert at Parco dei Noci, highlights the intimate dimension of chamber music in harmony with the natural surroundings. Finally, the End-of-Summer Concert brings the energy of swing and jazz to the heart of the neighborhood, encouraging social interaction and community engagement. The artistic direction focuses on eclectic repertoires ranging from the classical wind band tradition to jazz experimentation, including tributes to Bologna’s singer-songwriter heritage.

Each event is introduced by brief educational talks designed to help newcomers develop a deeper appreciation of music. The festival goes beyond performance alone, serving as a platform for urban regeneration by using music as a way to experience public spaces in the city's outskirts in a new and more conscious manner, transforming them into outstanding open-air concert venues. The continuity of the project ensures a lasting cultural impact, strengthening Borgo-Reno’s role as a creative hub for the entire metropolitan area.
