On Saturday 2 December at 9 p.m., the Basilica of San Petronio will host the Christmas concert of the Young Musicians European Orchestra (Ymeo), conducted by Paolo Olmi and featuring Brazilian violinist Guido Felipe Sant'Anna, winner of the 'Fritz Kreisler' competition. Orchestra and violinist will be accompanied by a Ukrainian children's choir from Ternopil, the Coro delle Voci Bianche and the youth choir of the Teatro Comunale di Bologna.
The concert, dedicated to the Ukrainian children, is part of an initiative of Rotary District 2072 to enable a group of them, orphans and war refugees, to spend two weeks' holiday in Romagna next summer.
The programme includes music by Mozart, Kreisler, Haendel and Respighi.
