Agrippina

On Thursday, December 11, and Friday, December 12, 2025, Agrippina will be staged at the Teatro Comunale of San Giovanni in Persiceto.

Agrippina is a serious opera in three acts by Georg Friedrich Händel, composed in 1709, which tells the story of Nero’s mother. Agrippina weaves a series of intrigues to secure the imperial throne for her son: amid secret loves, deceptions, and twists, she manipulates events, revealing herself as a strong and ambitious female figure. With its brilliant music and engaging dramaturgy, Agrippina is one of Händel’s early masterpieces and a quintessential example of Baroque opera.
