A selection of photographs by Lina Pallotta portraying Porpora Marcasciano arrives on the streets of Bologna: this is the new CHEAP poster public art project. Twenty-five posters for twenty-five photographic portraits. Thirty years of shots and in between the struggles, the travels, the encounters, the incarnated revolutions, the books, the exhibitions, the chasing from one city to another, the politics made in the streets.
Lina Pallotta, photographer, and Porpora Marcasciano, writer and trans activist, met on the same side of the barricades in a hot Naples during the phantasmagorical 1970s and have never left each other since.
Pallotta began photographing Marcasciano in 1990 with a close gaze and affective attention, an immediate, bodily touch, an intimate relationship. The 'Purple' project is an in-finite portrait of her friend and companion.
