On Saturday February 21, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM at the Church of Santa Maria di Galliera in Bologna, the event Pre-Restoration Activities for the 17th-Century Organ – Listening, in-depth insights and support for the preservation of sacred organ heritage will take place, as part of a monthly series.
The initiative is promoted by the Church of Santa Maria di Galliera, with the support of the Committee for Historic and Artistic Bologna, and offers the opportunity to experience the original meaning of the space as a place of spiritual connection.
It is dedicated to listening, learning, and supporting the study and preservation of the sacred organ heritage of Bologna’s churches, an exceptional instrument unique in Italy for its historical value.
The event includes listening sessions featuring the remarkable historic Traeri organ (1692–1697), scheduled at 4:20 PM and 5:00 PM, along with a brief historical and artistic introduction to the church and the instrument.
Essential explanations and information will be provided in both Italian and English.
Participation is by free donation, with proceeds allocated to the restoration of the Traeri organ.
