From 13 to 15 March 2026, Trebbo di Reno (a hamlet of Castel Maggiore – BO), in Piazza della Resistenza, celebrates the 214th edition of the historic Festa della Raviola.
Welcoming the arrival of spring, amid music and food stands, the heart of the event remains the Raviola, the shortcrust pastry dessert filled with Bolognese mostarda, traditionally prepared in the countryside around Bologna to celebrate the feast of Saint Joseph (19 March).
The ancient Festa della Raviola of Trebbo di Reno traces its origins back to the religious celebrations of the “Solemn Forty Hours,” documented in the parish archives for over 330 years.
From this tradition comes the saying “Ora et Raviola,” as it was customary to conclude the religious celebrations—after Holy Mass, the Eucharistic procession, and the blessing of the town—with a village festival that brought together relatives and friends, who were offered the famous raviole.
A festive occasion enlivened by fairground rides, street performers, and vendors of all kinds, drawing visitors not only from the village itself but also from neighboring towns.
