From 5 to 8 February 2026, as part of the live actions program, Fondazione Furla and ArteFiera present Wardrobe, a new project by Chalisée Naamani (1995, France), curated by Bruna Roccasalva.
Naamani’s practice explores the relationship between body, identity, and representation in contemporary visual culture, through a cross-disciplinary approach that integrates painting, sculpture, fashion, and technology.
Drawing inspiration from the dual nature of the Pavillon de l’Esprit Nouveau—both a manifesto of modernist ideals and a prototype of Le Corbusier’s machine à habiter—Naamani creates a kind of large wardrobe in which numerous monochrome garment covers, identical and neatly suspended, define a scenic space.
Within this exceptional wardrobe, Naamani stages everyday life through a performative action consisting of ironing: a domestic ritual that evokes care and dedication, while at the same time a cyclical and alienating action which, through its mechanical repetition, reflects the very idea of functionality and efficiency embodied by Le Corbusier’s architecture.
