Rust printing is an art with ancient origins, handed down in civilisations all over the world since the time of the Egyptians.
It is among the least known expressions of the Italian craft heritage and refers to a specific territory: Romagna.
Fondazione Fashion Research Italy has thus decided to make this unique know-how the protagonist of a choral exhibition in order to retrace its history and reveal its topicality and affinity with the fashion world.
In fact, the technique was also rediscovered by luxury brands and proposed among the trends at the Parisian Maison&Objet, the largest international event dedicated to lifestyle.
At the heart of the exhibition is the Foulard d'artista (artist's scarf) section, which also features artefacts, textiles and working tools, from the masters of eight workshops belonging to the Associazione Stampatori Tele Romagnole (Association of Cloth Printers of Romagna).
