Exactly sixty years after the conclusion of the Second Vatican Council, the Foundation for Religious Sciences presents a visual and documentary exhibition on one of the most profound and transformative events in the contemporary history of the Church.
The exhibition “The Times They Are A-Changin’. The Second Vatican Council. Art and Video History Exhibition” will be open from October 17, 2025, to January 6, 2026, in a dedicated space within the halls of Palazzo Pepoli.
Conceived as part of the initiatives for the 2025 Jubilee, the exhibition conveys the spirit of a council that succeeded in combining tradition and openness, giving shape to a new language for faith, for dialogue with other religions, and for engagement with modernity.
The exhibition project, curated by the Secretary of FSCIRE, Professor Alberto Melloni, offers a journey of knowledge and experience, where history intertwines with the voices, images, and artistic expressions of an era of radical change.
Works by Lucio Fontana, Giacomo Manzù, Carla Accardi, Bruno Munari, Alberto Burri, Piero Manzoni, Mario Schifano, Jannis Kounellis, Carol Rama, Tano Festa, Emilio Isgrò, Arnaldo Pomodoro, and other leading figures of the late 20th century.
