The exhibition Autoarchitherapy. Architectural Thoughts/Drawings | Ugo La Pietra 1963 - 1990

From 20 April to 25 May 2024, the exhibition Autoarchiterapia exhibits in the Spazio e Immagini gallery in Bologna, 22 architectural drawings by the author covering a time span of about 30 years and reflecting his practice to date. The initiative aims to investigate the drawing of Ugo La Pietra (a radical artist and architect) in depth: starting from his beginnings and then moving on to the early 1960s and finally to his maturity in the 1990s.

In this time span, the drawing evolves in a continuous progression of themes through the decades. These are drawings, sketches, sketches that it would be fair to call croquis, or models executed on a smaller scale than the work with a minimum number of strokes left in ink or Indian ink on paper.
