To mark the 44th anniversary of the Ustica massacre, MAMbo - Museo d'Arte Moderna di Bologna is hosting a large solo exhibition by Robert Kusmirowski, curated by Lorenzo Balbi and Marinella Paderni, to commemorate this tragic event through the language of contemporary art.
The exhibition, hosted in the Sala delle Ciminiere, represents a sort of continuation of the link between art and memory that annually enriches the programme of initiatives around the Ustica Memorial Museum.
Kusmirowski explores the complexity of memory and oblivion through large installations that combine visual, sound and sensory elements. Everyday objects are transformed into symbols, while the spaces are charged with an enigmatic and disturbing atmosphere. Suspended between the past and the present, the spectator will find himself reflecting on the complex dynamics between history, power and truth.
