From May 29 to September 28, the MAMbo – Museum of Modern Art of Bologna will host the exhibition Resisting Oblivion – Passion and Activism in the Feminist and Queer Archives of Bologna.
The exhibition, the result of a meeting between U.S. historian Chelsea Szendi Schieder and some of the most active feminist and queer archival realities in Bologna, recounts the work of archives born “from below”-independent spaces, collectives and transfeminists-that preserve and disseminate historical and cultural materials often excluded from the official narrative.
The exhibition is part of Bologna Estate 2025, the summer program promoted by the Municipality of Bologna and the Metropolitan City of Bologna – Bologna-Modena Tourist Area.
On June 6, 2025, it will also take part in the Night of the Archives, as part of the 8th edition of Archivissima.
The opening event is Wednesday, May 28, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM
