On the occasion of ART CITY Bologna 2023, PhMuseum Lab and Mat3ria jointly present the multimedia exhibition Augmented Rome by the artist Priscilla Pallante.
The artist's desire to "reduce Rome" and abstract it, creating a different mapping of a city with its chaotic and overwhelming beauty. The continuous and deafening noise of the Eternal City is translated by Pallante into silent artworks, which transcend time and space, giving life to a new urban and historical geography of the capital. A different story of Rome, in an intertwining that combines the photographic images created by the reaction of a liquid to the sound vibrations recorded by the artist - the so-called imaging techniques of cymatics - together with some 3D models of Roman architecture simplified in their geometric shapes essential elements and stereoscopic visions based on augmented reality and collected sounds which thus become material.
