The photographic exhibition curated by Maria Cecilia Ugolini and Stefano Pezzoli, with whom he recently inaugurated the Opificio delle Acque, tells of the twentieth-century transformations of the north-western area of the city, characterized for centuries by uncovered canals and factories that they used water for various productive activities.
The exhibition is the result of a long and careful research conducted by the two curators who, studying archival documents, viewing photographs and maps, have given us a compelling story in images of the history of the ancient city waterways during the twentieth century.
The exhibition is promoted by Canali di Bologna in collaboration with Cineteca di Bologna, Biblioteca Comunale dell'Archiginnasio, Art and History Collections of the Cassa di Risparmio Foundation in Bologna, private collectors and with the patronage of the Municipality of Bologna, Metropolitan City and IBC Emilia Romagna.
