Patrick Tuttofuoco, Abandon your eyes - ART CITY 2024

The Sala Convegni Banca di Bologna in Palazzo De' Toschi hosts "Abandon your eyes", a special project by Patrick Tuttofuoco: one of the most well-known and appreciated Italian artists of his generation. The exhibition, curated by Davide Ferri and part of the institutional programme of ART CITY Bologna, will open to the public on Tuesday 30 January and will continue until Sunday 18 February, displaying a series of new productions and two recent works.

Abandon your eyes presents forms and modalities emblematic of Tuttofuoco's practice from the very beginning: the use of industrial and synthetic materials such as neon, iron and plastic; the inclination to involve the spectator in inhabiting the exhibition, rather than acting as a detached observer.

At the same time, the project develops aspects that are part of the artist's recent work: the focus on the medium of sculpture, realised with industrial/synthetic materials such as methacrylate and classical ones such as marble; the inclination to translate form into figure, which in Abandon your eyes repeats, at different points in space, the figure of the body.
