Oltre / Dialogue Between Photography, Territories, and Communities

In the contemporary landscape, photography has moved beyond its purely documentary function, becoming a tool capable of investigating the deep, often invisible relationships between individuals, society, and the places they inhabit.

Through photography and in collaboration with local communities, the Foto/Territorio collective aims to build a shared and conscious "collective gaze" that fosters reflection, understanding, and dialogue.

To this end, three leading Italian photographers – Marina Caneve, Luca Capuano, and Alessandro Imbriaco – have been invited to develop original research projects in the Marzabotto area. Alongside their research, they will lead a free workshop for up to 15 photographers selected through an open call.

Information

• The workshop will take place from 3 to 11 October at the former Ex Cartiera di Lama di Reno.
• The exhibition presenting the outcomes of the workshop will be on view from 24 October to 1 November at the same venue.
• On 24 October, during the exhibition opening, a series of talks and presentations with photographers, artists, and curators will take place from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm. A public aperitivo and DJ set will follow from 7:00 pm.
• The open call for the workshop is open until 30 August. Selected participants will be announced by 7 September.
