From 24 April to 30 June 2024, the underground spaces of Palazzo Bentivoglio in Bologna are displaying, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of Giorgio Morandi's death, a selection of photographs taken by Luigi Ghirri (a great Italian photographer) between 1988 and 1990 in the artist's studio, and which come from the collection of Palazzo Bentivoglio and Eredi Luigi Ghirri.
The exhibition dedicated to Morandi is accompanied by a text by Tommaso Pasquali and, based on an idea by Davide Trabucco, recovers and reconfigures the installation by Felicissimo Giani created by Franco Raggi, recreating Giorgio Morandi's studio environment.
The exhibition ends with the screening of: Luigi Ghirri - Anthological exhibition 1972-1992 (2001) by Maurizio Magri and Paolo Comastri. The video, through the words of Paola Ghirri, Gianni Celati, Arrigo Ghi, Massimo Mussini and Giorgio Messori, provides a glimpse of Luigi Ghirri's work, giving an evocative interpretative key.
