The International Museum and Library of Music of Bologna, part of the Civic Museums Sector, continues its journey exploring the dialogue between music and photography by hosting the exhibition "Lelli e Masotti MUSIC" from June 6 to September 7, 2025, curated by Silvia Lelli with the collaboration of Riccardo Negrelli.
The exhibition showcases the work of photographers Silvia Lelli and Roberto Masotti, known as "Lelli e Masotti". Since the late 1960s, they have documented the world of live music, notably collaborating for years with the Teatro alla Scala in Milan. Their photographs capture the energy and expressiveness of musical performance, freezing gestures, expressions, and atmospheres in time.
On display are over 80 black-and-white photographs, printed in high-quality analog format, spanning a wide range of musical genres and settings—from classical to jazz, opera to rock, and experimental music. The exhibition offers a visual narrative that brings together composers, performers, conductors, orchestras, and instruments, offering an inclusive and multifaceted perspective on the world of live music.
During the exhibition period, guided tours will be available, led by the curators Silvia Lelli and Riccardo Negrelli.
The official opening will take place on June 5 at 6:30 PM at the Museum of Music (Strada Maggiore 34, Bologna).
