On Thursday, November 20, 2025, the exhibition The Cicada’s Dream by Dario Sostegni opens at 8:30 p.m. at Parco della Montagnola, Ex Casa del Custode.
An exhibition and installation by Dario Sostegni, plus live painting with a sound performance by Sax Tape – part of the Spettro collective.
The event takes its cue from the new work by Dario Sostegni and Raffaele Sorrentino, The Cicada’s Dream (Canicola, 2025): a dive into a small coastal town where adolescence and the transition to adulthood coincide with a metamorphosis from organic to mineral, and back again.
This metamorphosis also unfolds through the sounds of Sax Tape. Born within the Brescia-based collective Spettro, Sax Tape is a project that brings together Lulu—tape experimenter, crafter of grainy, fiber-rich rhythmic bases, sleepwalker of trip-hop and tightrope walker of analog sound—and Simone (half of Twoonky), who weaves soulful saxophone lines, bouncing echoes of Black music off the lampposts of vanished metropolises.
Curated by Canicola/Maple Death in collaboration with Arci. Part of A occhi aperti, the international comics and illustration festival.
With the patronage of the Emilia-Romagna Region; promoted by the City of Bologna, in collaboration with De Press, Arci Bologna, Montagnola Bologna, and the Bologna Academy of Fine Arts.
