Échos des visages is an exhibition that aims to connect the work of two French artists, Laurent Lafolie and Clément Mitéran.
The dialogue proposed between the two artists, curated by Giovanni Gardini and Michel Poivert, is an opportunity to showcase the latest developments in contemporary photography: photography “expanded” to include new skills in the field of imagery.
Appropriating space with sometimes spectacular installations, Laurent Lafolie transforms the art of portraiture into a poetics of faces. With Clément Mitéran, mosaic artist, the photographic impression plays with the compositions of tiles as units of images - a sort of materialised “pixels” - in front of which the observer also experiences “seeing by recomposing” the image, without losing awareness of its materiality.

The event is part of the 9th Ravenna Mosaic Biennial and is in collaboration with the French association MuPa.
